Working-Dog Methodology.

Specialized Dog Training for High-Drive & Reactive Dogs in South Dublin, Wicklow & Kildare

For owners who want real obedience, clear communication, and a dog they can actually live with.

Are you timing your walks around when the street will be empty? Scanning ahead for other dogs before your dog even sees them? You’ve done the classes, used the treats, and your dog is still the one deciding how the walk goes.

This is not your average “sit-stay-down” puppy class.

We teach you a real, clear, and fair way to communicate with your dog.

Standard companion training was built for average pet breeds. High-drive, working-line, and reactive dogs are not average pets. That is not a training gap you can close with more repetition. These dogs require structure, clear markers, and a handler who can communicate with precision while being the stable leader they need.

We work with dogs that other trainers have refused:

  • Reactive dogs

  • Dogs labeled “too much” for group classes

Using working-dog methodology drawn from drive-based systems, marker training, and real-world proofing, we give you and your dog a framework they actually understand.

In-Home Dog Training Services

We provide in-person training sessions at your home across Wicklow, Kildare, and South Dublin.

Please note that training success depends strictly on the work done by the owner between sessions.

About us

I train high-energy and working-breed dogs, the ones standard methods tend to fail, and the owners who are ready to take real responsibility for what their dog actually needs.

I came to this work the hard way, through my own dog, Pluto: A difficult rescue that standard training couldn’t touch. Figuring out what he actually needed led me to NePoPo® methodology and, from there, to working-dog training as a discipline in its own right.

My approach draws on three lineages that, in my experience, aren’t usually combined: the drive-based systems from STSK9, the mechanical structure and precision of NePoPo, and the marker, motivation, and real-world application work of Michael Ellis. Each solves a different part of the problem: drive, structure, communication and together they cover what a dog actually needs to become stable and reliable.

I’m a NePoPo® Gold certified graduate, trained in Belgium under Hans Verbruggen. I’m also an active member of a KNPV (Royal Dutch Police Dog Association) club in the North of Ireland, and I keep training through ongoing seminars and mentorship.

But credentials are the baseline, not the pitch. What matters is what the dogs can do afterward. I work with severely reactive dogs other trainers have given up on, and high-drive breeds their owners assumed were uncontrollable. Using counter-conditioning, marker-based reinforcement, and balanced drive work, I move dogs from crisis to something closer to partnership.

The dogs I work with don’t just sit and stay. They hold themselves together around triggers. Their owners stop managing and start leading.

I run two programs: Foundation, Progression, and Performance for owners of high-energy dogs who want real obedience and real-world reliability, and a full Behavioral Rehabilitation program for owners of severely reactive dogs who are ready to commit to a system that works.

I’m based in Wicklow and work in person across Wicklow, Kildare, and Dublin. This isn’t a shortcut business; it’s a methodology, and it requires presence and consistency.
In dog training, while improvements are often seen fast, there is no such thing as a quick fix to resolving real behaviour issues in a lasting way.

Erik was very helpful. He had a couple of role-playing games that helped us view things from the dogs perspective and in turn helped us with training. His techniques are very effective and our dog also really enjoyed them. We could always reach out to Erik and his training was based around what we wanted to get out of it. Very good trainer. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. Very clear the passion he has for his craft. Would and have recommended to friends.

Can’t say enough good things about Erik. My dog has serious prey drive and was pretty reactive when we started — he’s helped turn that around massively, plus recall is honestly the best it’s ever been. He’s patient, clearly knows his stuff, and taught me how to actually be a better leader for my dog rather than just giving me quick fixes. Would recommend him to anyone struggling with a tricky, driven dog.. Thanks Erik 🙏

Rusty is a warm hearted energetic Red Setter / Collie cross. Unfortunately I have allowed her believe that recall and obedience are optional, and given we live in a rural area with sheep farmers protective of their flocks, it is a worry if Rusty ever gets out without a lead. After only three sessions with Erik the bond between myself and Rusty is much stronger and I believe that with his help Rusty will be safer and happier.

I can’t recommend **Eric at Pluto & Co K9** enough! His training is absolutely excellent and has made such a massive difference with our dog. It’s clear from minute one that Eric knows exactly what he’s doing. He reads dog behavior like a book. Our 5 month old high drive Kelpie is no easy dog to train. I’m honestly blown away by the Results. We saw a massive difference in our dog’s behavior and responsiveness almost immediately.! If you're looking for the best training around, go see Eric. **Total game-changer.**

Really impressed with the training. The trainer quickly understood my dog’s behavior and gave clear, positive techniques that worked. Within a few sessions, I saw a big improvement—less pulling, better listening, and much calmer overall. I also feel more confident handling different situations now. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend Pluto & Co K9 training enough! Erik provides tailored training matching yours and your dog needs and expectations. He has a great knowledge about diffrent breads and training methods, and also supplied writen instructions we could refer to when we were unsure. Extremely flexible providing training in your house setting and outdoor depending on the requirement. We had opportunity to observe Erik having training session with his own dog to show us how progress with our puppy might look like. Great communication, and regular check in messages to make sure we are doing ok. We will be back in the future for further tips! Highly recommend!

I had a great lesson with Erik on Dog handling and the different behaviour behind each dog breed. Erik is very engaging and compassionate about Dogs, he tought me alot about the difference between pets, based on the breed you want and how to engage with each one differently. Eriks lessons made me think carefully about the next Dog i want and will i be able to handle the demands of the breed I choose.
